Students who had attended the Youth Leadership training were invited to apply for an employment opportunity with Career Solutions. The students who were given jobs worked and played with younger kids in their own neighborhoods. They assisted with serving meals and keeping neighborhoods free of trash.
A team of teachers, social workers and university students mentored and met with each one weekly throughout the summer. The students were expected to be to work on time, assist wherever needed, take initiative in their work, ask for help when needed, look for ways to improve their neighborhood and maintain a good attitude.
